Loudoun County has ranked at the top of the list of fastest growing counties in the United States for the past few years. Along with that rampant growth has come the responsibility to care for our new neighbors.
Although Loudoun County, Virginia, is one of the wealthiest counties in the United States, it is alarming to note that approximately 3 percent of our community lives at the poverty level. Nearly 8,000 people in the county live on an income of $20,000 to support a family of four. This means that many of our neighbors cannot afford, nor do they have access to, quality health care. There are more than 40,000 uninsured residents in Loudoun County alone.
