People without health insurance are at risk, and as the economy struggles, the number of people in need continues to grow.  For thousands of Loudoun County residents, access to vital health care services remains out of reach, and more and more Loudoun County residents turn to the Free Clinic because they cannot afford doctor or hospital bills.  Most of our patients have complex conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma and even cancer, and many have not seen a doctor in years.

In 2010, the Loudoun Free Clinic saw almost 1,600 patients during 3,660 visits.  We offer regular medical clinic hours in addition to educational classes, prescription medication assistance, lab tests, and referrals to specialty treatments to our patients throughout the year.  We distributed nearly 15,000 prescriptions to Free Clinic patients in 2010, valued at $1,475,476.00.  Our amazing doctors, nurses and other community members donated over 5,000 hours of service last year.

The Free Clinic receives no ongoing federal funding.  We raise money through grants, donations from private individuals and corporations, and by hosting special events.  Because of the generosity of donors and the many volunteer physicians, nurses and support staff who donate their time, the Free Clinic is able to provide $7.00 in medical care for every dollar spent, helping us to meet the health care needs of nearly 1,000 Loudoun County residents who would, through economic and other barriers, otherwise do without these vital services.
