The Loudoun Free Clinic benefits all residents of Loudoun County by providing a place where needy, uninsured patients can go for routine medical care besides the hospital emergency room. Thus, the Free Clinic contributes to the fiscal health of local hospitals and the community, as well as to the health of its citizens.
For every $1 the Free Clinic spends, it delivers $8 in health care. For the year ending 6/30/08, we delivered $3.2 million in health care services to the residents of Loudoun County through generous volunteers and the charitable capacity of the local health system.
- The Loudoun Free Clinic is the only medical facility in Loudoun County that provides free health care to low-income, uninsured residents. In 2009, our medical professionals treated 800 patients, and we had more than 3,700 patient visits.
- There is no government program that provides medical care to uninsured, low-income, adult patients, unless a person has a specific need, e.g., is disabled.
- The Free Clinic receives no on-going federal funds, We rely on private donations and local government assistance to help your neighbors.
- In this worsening economy, a growing number of Loudoun County residents are seeking assistance to pay for medical care. The County's Department of Family Services reports a 203% increase in the number of individuals requesting help with medical care and prescriptions, and estimates that as many as 35,000 of its residents have no medical insurance.
- As our community grows and the need for medical services for our patients increases, we depend even more on your support.
