For many uninsured adults, healthcare is often delayed until something becomes urgent. Without health insurance or a primary care doctor, many wait until they are seriously ill to seek medical help, often turning to the emergency room when a condition can no longer be ignored.
Veronica’s story reflects that reality. Nearly six years ago, after being treated in the emergency room for a kidney infection, she needed follow-up care to continue her recovery. Without insurance or access to a primary care doctor, finding ongoing treatment was difficult. After being referred by a former Loudoun Free Clinic employee, Veronica found the care she needed at Loudoun Free Clinic.
“When I found out about Loudoun Free Clinic, it was like a blessing. It allowed me to continue receiving follow-up care with a primary care doctor.”
Like Veronica, many in our community face barriers to healthcare, including lack of health insurance and financial hardship.
Veronica has recovered from her kidney infection and has continued to be a patient ever since. She has expressed gratitude for the services we provide: “The service has been excellent. I am very happy and satisfied here. I am able to get all my testing done and receive any referrals I need as well.”
“The staff is also very professional and friendly. Dinorah has been very helpful in providing me with resources.”
