NOW ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Eva

When Eva first moved to Loudoun County, uncertainty was her constant companion. She and her family had recently been very sick with COVID-19, and she was relatively new to the country. “It was scary,” she remembers. “As a recent immigrant, I felt disconnected and vulnerable.”

Eva was also a cancer survivor, and she knew that she would need to navigate the complex healthcare system. “I was overwhelmed and almost paralyzed about how to get cancer care,” she explains. “I didn’t know where to turn, who would help me.”

A neighbor’s simple suggestion put her on a path forward. “Contact the Free Clinic,” they said – and these words would become her lifeline.

When she enrolled as a patient with Loudoun Free Clinic, she felt a sense of relief. “At the reception, they welcomed me with such care and affection,” Eva recalls. “It was unlike anything I’d experienced before.” The doctors approached her with a compassion that shattered her previous experiences with healthcare. “They didn’t just see me as another patient,” she emphasizes. “They listened. They truly wanted to understand my story.”

Comparing the clinic to healthcare in her home country – where patients often felt like burdens – Eva found a transformative experience. “The providers here aren’t just doctors,” she says passionately. “They’re advocates, supporters, friends who genuinely want the best for me.”

The clinic’s commitment to cultural sensitivity spoke directly to her heart. Despite her limited English, the staff always found ways to communicate, to connect. “I watched in amazement as they went out of their way to ensure I understood everything,” Eva shares. “They didn’t just treat my medical condition – they treated my entire human experience.”

Now, she is an enthusiastic advocate for the clinic. “I tell everyone I meet about this place,” she says. “They didn’t just save my health – they restored my hope. I am truly grateful.”

For Eva, Loudoun Free Clinic represents more than medical care. It represents belonging, care, and dignity.
