BECOME A PATIENT

Mirna M.

Financial hardships have become a barrier for many families in our community, and for Mirna, access to affordable healthcare became critical during one of the most difficult times in her life.

Mirna was previously a patient at Loudoun Free Clinic before leaving when her husband received health insurance through his employer. However, after her husband became seriously ill, their family faced increase in medical expenses and debt from hospital visits. Although they had insurance, it did not fully cover the care their family needed. As financial pressures increased, they were forced to look for another option for healthcare.

“When my husband became sick, everything changed for our family,” Mirna shared. “We were overwhelmed with medical bills and did not know what to do.”

Mirna came back to Loudoun Free Clinic needing important medical services, including a mammogram and biopsy. Being a stay-at-home mother caring for her family while her husband struggled with illness, having access to free healthcare became a major source of relief and support. “The clinic gave me peace of mind during a very difficult time in our lives,” she said. “They helped me get the care I needed when we could not afford it.”

She describes her experience at the clinic as excellent and says she is deeply thankful for the care and compassion she has received from the staff. Mirna believes Loudoun Free Clinic is a blessing for individuals and families with low incomes who face barriers to healthcare. “If I could describe Loudoun Free Clinic in one word, it would be a blessing,” Mirna shared. “The people here truly care about you.” “I always tell people not to be afraid to ask for help,” Mirna added. “Everyone here treated me with kindness and respect from the very beginning.”

Today, Mirna continues to recommend Loudoun Free Clinic to others because of the excellent service, compassionate staff, and support the clinic provides to the community.
