What are Women’s Health Services?

Women’s health covers everything from reproductive health and gynecological care to menopause management and screenings for cancer and sexually transmitted diseases. Another key component of women’s health services is education designed to empower women. Our clinic provides educational resources and guidance on various topics to promote informed decision-making with regards to your health.

What does a Gynecologist do?

A gynecologist is a medical professional specializing in women’s reproductive health, which includes everything from reproductive wellness to sexual health. Your gynecologist is your partner in women’s health, providing routine check-ups, diagnosing conditions, offering guidance on contraception, and more.

When Should I See a Gynecologist?

There are many reasons a woman should schedule an appointment with a gynecologist. In addition to routine exams, women over the age of 21 should also see a gynecologist can also help with:

Menstrual Irregularities

If you’re experiencing severe cramps, excessive bleeding, or changes in your menstrual cycle, a gynecologist can recommend ways to alleviate irregularities.

Gynecology Services at Loudoun Free Clinic

To be a patient at Loudoun Free Clinic, you need to be an uninsured adult residing in Loudoun County, earning 300% of the Federal Poverty Level or less, and not qualifying for Medicare or Medicaid. We welcome everyone, regardless of immigration status.

If you meet these criteria, here are the women’s health services we can provide at no cost to you:

STI Testing

We offer discreet and comprehensive testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes, HIV, and HPV.

Cancer Screenings

Our team offers specialized cancer screening services to ensure early detection and timely intervention. We screen for breast, cervical and ovarian cancer.

Pregnancy Care

Loudoun Free Clinic does not provide services for expectant mothers. Rather, they are referred for Medicaid services so that the baby will have Medicaid upon birth. We will provide care to the mother once pregnancy is completed.

Regular Exams

Routine wellness exams are important for maintaining overall health, as well as early detection of potential health issues.

Our wellness exams include the following range of services:

  • Pelvic exams
  • Pap smears
  • Breast exams
  • Blood pressure and heart monitoring
  • General health assessment
